These two factors can now be optimised further – with the RECOSS Safety Sensor System for all GF (Georg Fischer) fifth-wheels SK-S 36.20 by SAF-HOLLAND.
The RECOSS Safety Sensor System makes coupling safer and more comfortable. Three sensors monitor the status and functioning of the fifth-wheel electronically and indicate this visually and acoustically in the cockpit. RECOSS is available ex works for all GF (Georg Fischer) SK-S 36.20 fifth-wheels regardless of their specifications, e.g. low-maintenance plates or direct mounting, height-adjustable versions, in all available heights.
Sensors 1 and 2 on the coupler jaw and the safety latch continuously monitor the safety and correctness of the coupling operation. Sensor 3 monitors the presence of the semitrailer plate and ensures correct engagement and coupling height.

Less Stress
The driver has the obligation to ensure that the fifth wheel has closed properly and is safely locked – after each coupling operation and each break. With RECOSS at his side, he has an electronic assistance system which takes a considerable part of the strain off him: RECOSS reduces the accident risk and the number of unnecessary workshop visits because its three sensors not only indicate the correct coupling height but also monitor the coupling process continuously. Any deviations are immediately indicated in the cockpit both visually and acoustically.
